In 3147 the world has taken a turn for the worst, and for the best. Men have returned to the highest government, Academies are reopened everywhere for young ladies to go and learn how to sip tea, and woman are no more then property to their husbands; only made to bear children and go to dinner parties. The woman are marched off to their academies where they learn to curtsy- while there are many of them, all over the world, Florence’s Academy for the Young is the most prestigious.
The cliques that the girls have formed are endless, there are those that listen to the headmistress and those that don’t, there are those who are here only on scholarship to be a governess, and those that are here because of their family’s wealth. They enter the school at ten years of age until their season, where, hopefully, they will find a husband suitable in this strange new world.
The headmistress takes great pride in the girls that are turned out into the world from Florence. Well, most of them.
Several girls, who feel as if they don’t belong, have always had a dark secret. A secret that no one else can know. These select few girls enter a mysterious world of the realms were magic unfolds and hold their hearts aloft. They enter in the only safe place imaginable… The girl’s restroom.
The girls join hands together, forming a pact, and a friendship that they hope will last to the death.
While the girls live in the east wing the boys have a stomping ground in the west. They, much like the girls, are here to learn their times tables and facts, to advance into the world like women used to. It is horribly dull over there, and the only times they get to even see the women that are being nurtured are during dancing classes, meals, and when passing in the hallway.
There is no such thing as dating.
There is no such thing as love.
And if they ever even THOUGHT about crossing over the invisible line in the hallway… it surely means doom for them.
But a group of boys have, they have met these ladies who enter the magical world and have created a gentleman’s club of their own for only the most prestigious, richest boys of all time. However, they only want into the realms. They only want to see this magic that the girls can have. They want a taste of power that they, though they can’t feel it, already have it.
The world isn’t all safe and peaceful however. Outside the school gypsies roam, making camp on the grounds. And though there has never been a threat before strange things are happening, the disappearance of villagers and students. The students are not allowed out after dark, but these rules are not always followed.
Inside is just as bad. Gossip and rumors fly from one mouth to the ears of the next. And being girls, they flock to the gossip like moths to a flame.
From lovers to broken rules all the girls fight to be the perfect ladies and all boys to be perfect gentlemen before they are turned out into the strange world that they have been thrust into.
