``EVENTHEDEVILMAYCRY when he looks around hell and realizes he’s all alone
All was silent, not a noise to be heard. The air seemed eerily still, particles immobile in the bitter cold room. Sudan knew that chill, and was very familiar with the stale, stiff air of a cell. What she didn’t know was how she got there. Usually she was apprehended and dragged against her will, kicking and screaming all the while. Doctors must have gotten tiresome of her wailing, drugged her, and brought her here. It was really the only explanation because even though her mind was ticking away, very much lively and animated with thought, her body was resistant to join in.
It took every ounce of her strength to open her eyes. For a while she almost believed they were sewn shut, but much to her relief the drug was beginning to subside. All she could see with those hazy, azure hues was the ceiling. She thought she was lying down, but she was actually seated in a large chair, with her head reclined over the back of it. Her neck ached due to the awkward position, and she’d probably be in great need of a chiropractor many years down the road-- if she ever got the hell out of this place. She wasn’t worried about that presently. Regaining her mobility was her first priority. The next, escape.
Constantly, she was telling her brain to send movements to her appendages. Slowly, but surely, progress was achieved. First, her pinky on her right hand twitched, then that very same hand balled itself into a weak fist. She blinked and did the same with the other hand. She lifted her head, feeling a horrible aching sensation in her neck. It made her wonder how long she’d been out and if the ‘treatment’ had already been done. Her eyes looked around the dark, dank room, finding a syringe and an untouched bottle of medicine. To her, it looked like it was about to begin. The thought alone put a fire under her to get up and book it.
She shot to her feet and instantly fell to the ground like a limp noodle. She cursed softly, and tried again, this time a bit easier than before. Her legs were shaking, but were useful in moving her from the seat halfway to the door. She was a few steps away from it when she heard the knob turn. She scrambled to the floor, hiding herself behind the operating table within the room. She didn’t move, she didn’t breathe, she only waited for the inevitable. Of course, they would find her.

God what a long day it had been. Patience trying to kill him nurses being jerks oh the fun today has brought. He was still in a good mood though which was nothing all that new. For most of the time he was happy. Though he did get pissed off at other doctors or nurses when they treated patience like animals. All because they where different. Though he was different as well not o many knew of this secret. If they did he would be locked away as well. Especially since he was a Vampire and a Demon cross breed. What kind of mess would he have to create if they found out it would be a blood bath.
But that was not what mattered right now. He had herd of one of the patience being locked away. Though he was Security here he did not know the reason on why she was put down in this nasty place. he would not even want to be stuck down here. It was an inhuman place though and the rules where rules whether or not he liked them or not. He got paid and did his job though he did cheat now and then.
His eyes turned blood red and reshaped as he entered the dark area where the cells where kept if not for this he would be unable to see. They looked like lizards eyes some said though only patience knew about his secret. Which is why he was liked by the majority of them. As he came near her cell he stopped for only a brief moment then took a breath. He was wondering what her plan would be once he opened the door. Would she attack or still be scared. Oh well he would do what he could either way.
As his hand turned the knob to the door his ears perked up as he herd her move inside. Though he opened the door slowly and made no quick motions when he came in. He had a fanged smile on his face and his eyes still glowing. He took quick notice of her it was not that hard and it was Sudana but why would she be here?
"Sudana..What happened this time? And you dont seem yourself...Those ass holes drugged you most likely they are doing that with more and more patience now aday."

In an attempt to slow her breathing, she actually ended up holding her breath. Sudan half expected whoever it was to just come barging in and ransack the place. Instead, they came in slow. She could hear the door squeal as it gradually opened. She let out a slow breath, making it a silent as she could. It hurt every time she summoned those animals on her body to life, mainly the tiger. She was much too numb to even be capable of doing that. No, the viper would do just fine. It’s venom would surely paralyze the intruder, leaving her just enough time to make a break for it. Sudan lifted the sleeve on her arm and closed her eyes.
The flesh on her arm crawled, tickled at first then began to burn with pain. It was like her skin was on fire, and nearly looked like it too. They was her flesh boiled and reddened, just before the bright green viper appeared. It lay coiled around her arm, hissing lowly. She stood quickly, stopping just in time to see Dante on the other side of the table. Sudan let out a relieved sigh and retracted the serpent back onto her flesh. It stung briefly, but nothing compared to what it felt like when it arrived.
“I almost paralyzed you, Dante,” she groaned, her heart racing inside the confines of her chest. She pulled her sleeve back down and looked to the door to see if anyone was coming in after him. Once she could see that the coast was clear, she began again. “Yeah, I see that. Have the pain in my neck to prove it actually,” she added, placing her hands on her hips. She didn’t trust anyone really. Of course, she trusted Dante more than others, but not fully. Half-breed or not, he was still a doctor, and how devoted to his race or occupation he was, was a mystery to everyone.
“I don’t remember how I got down here. I know I’ve had slop tossed at me for the last time. What I did to get here I can’t recall,” she said with a roll of those haunting blue eyes. “I have drugs to thank for that. Fortunately for them I don’t remember, otherwise I’d do it again.” She muttered. “Are you going to let me go? Or are you going to be a good security guard and keep me here for the night?”

When she told him he almost was paralyzed he gave her a soft smile. He would think she would know better then those little tricks working on him. And it helped being able to understand what she meant though her ability was very rare and very interesting actually. He was actually ashamed that he also had not power like that. His power though was some what different and still nobody knew except for himself what it was. Thats how well he kept his truth from the human race. But one day he would fight back when he knew he could win.
Walking over towards her he kept his charming smile on his face and sat down besides. her He loved the way she acted and was very interested now in finding out who had done this. He would personally deal with it after he finished up here with her. And his method was far more severe then any of the patience could do. As he sat their she would be able to tell he was not to happy. As his eyes shifted from different shades of red. That and the temperature of the room was increasing slightly each second. Patience knew he had pyrokenesis but they did not know of his true power. Not yet that was for down the road.
"Me be a good security guard oh come on now? Whats the fun in doing what humans ask me to do when i can do the opposite? Now since you dont trust me and think of me as only a half breed let me tell you a little secret. Im no half breed like you think i have no human in me what so ever. Though that might be hard to see how i am now but trust me i am no where near human. I hate what they do just as much as you but i need to stay on their side till the right time comes.... I should not be telling you this in all honesty.."
He did mean what he said if she so much of whispered the word of him being what he was to the other staff he would be locked away just like them. Though it would be a blood bath first because he would go out killing all the humans here before he would be caught. And then his life would have to be taken if they could that is. Standing up he walked towards the door and shut it. Then a small symbol formed upon it glowing a dark red as his hand passed over it. The door would not be opened until he allowed for it. The symbols spread through the room making a glowing tint apply itself to the room.
"Sudana i do wish to help you trust me....I know you all think of me as one of them but would you rather it be me or actually one of them? At least i can help you guys"

She kept her eyes on him as he rounded the table and made his way over to her. Although charming he was, she wouldn’t be swayed by only words. She had to admit, he was terribly handsome. Normally she would have melted at that smile, or the way his words rolled off his tongue in the rich Australian accent. Unfortunately words, to her, were empty unless backed up- threats included. The way his eyes flickered devilishly, the way the temperature in the room fluctuated; it should have scared her. The drugs must have had her fearless because as far as she was concerned he could have beaten her and no one could do a thing about it. It wouldn’t be like being beaten by a human either. It would be painful, excruciating even. She should have been terrified.
“A half-breed is a half-breed, human mixed or not.” She couldn’t help but to be slightly smug. Fortunately for her, both her parents were pureblood demon. Where some half-breeds only reaped half of their heritages benefits, others had all of bother. Obviously, Dante had all of both and then some. Still, she was pure bred so where her power was concerned she had no restraint. Even stick figures were deadly in her book. “Anyways, I didn’t mean to insult you. I was merely stating a fact.” She said, folding her arms across her chest as he moved to the door and sealed it shut.
“Are you following orders, or are you keeping me here?” She asked, this time more firmly. “I’d love to trust you, Dante, but I haven’t seen anything to trust. You could easily free me, and yet I’m still here,” she explained moving over toward the door to examine the glowing inscription. “So tell me, how do you help around here? Besides not beating us, and throwing food at us like the other security guards, what have you done to help?” She asked, now standing toe to toe with him.
“You’re just like them . . . only nicer,” she smirked. After a brief pause she felt a sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach. Sudan was beginning to feel guilty about the way she was speaking to him. The truth was, she was just really irritated, and more than that she was tired. Since he was the only one in the room with her, she was projecting her frustrations toward him. “Sorry . . .” she said lowly, lowering her eyes, and feeling ashamed of herself. She wasn’t usually so venomous with her words—not in the least.

Her words where cold sounding but they had no effect on him what so ever. He had delt with all types of people during his life and this one was just a pissed of girl. And could you blame her? He was not even locked up and was pissed. Though what the patience did not understand was what he truly was doing and why he did what he did. His main goal was to learn as much as he could and find weakness in the human world then he would destroy it. That was his plan and in truth it was not to be as easy as it sounded.
"Sudana Its not that im doing my job nor keeping you here but more for the safety of any one who would come through that door while i am like this. You may find me only a half breed and my power being limited. But what you do not know is what my power is. I am sorry i took this path and am not a patient like the rest of you i know how that must seem to you.... But trust me i hate them just as much as you do. Im just biding my time till i can show my true power to the world of humans. "
His eyes where still flickering wildly but the temperature now was no longer as immense as it had been. He had thoughts of showing her what he meant but knew better then to allow himself to use his powers unless their was a real reason. "If i show you something promise to never whisper a single word about it?" Of course he knew it would be a bad idea but it might just be enough to gain her trust back. though it could turn against him as well. But he figured in order for her trust he would have to trust her as well.

She listened as he spoke to her, even though her eyes were directed at her feet. With every pause and every breath he took, she wanted to interject, to argue with him. She didn't understand why she was being so difficult, or why she was giving him such a hard time. The blame couldn't be placed solely on the drugs, or the fact that she was highly preturbed. Sudan should have just taken his word, and then if they fell through later then she would trust him no longer. For now, she would try her best to do just that. She didn't trust him right away, but she would be open to at least attempting to. She only nodded along as he explained.
"Fine . . . I'll take your word for it. I'll try to trust you," she agreed, looking back up to him finally. She saw his eyes flickering, and assumed it was because he was getting worked up. She hated that she was doing that to him. "Just calm down," she said, moving back over to the table. She sat down and began to take in the dark dank cell-- the one she would be staying in for the night due to her outburst. Even though she wanted to blame Dante for not letting her go, she was the reason she was down here in the first place.
She brushed her hair from her face, looking across the room toward him with now curious eyes. He was going to show her something, and he didn't look too willing or sure of what he was about to do. Part of her wanted to insist that he keep whatever it was to herself so she wouldn't get in trouble for knowing what he was about to show her. The other part of her was curious. It was that part of her that won her over.
"Who am I going to tell, Dante? Everyone thinks us freaks are insane anyways. I'd get beaten for even suggesting you're well, what you are," she explained, not wanting to say what he was out loud since someone could always be listening in. "You can trust me. I'm not going anywhere."

"Sudana I want you to know im no where near mad at you... My eyes are currently like this due to the odd ability i have. Some may say its a curse while other might not. I have a choice to either let that darker side of myself show or to allow people to see the more human like side to me. Im not like other beings here i have more power then i wish i had which is why i took this job once i find their weakness i will use it against them and i will kill every one of them." His words came out cold as he spoke and he was truly showing his more demonic side now. As he stood their around his body a black aura formed flickering wildly as he remained still. As his body began to turn from his normal tone to jet black.
He still showed a smile as he started to slowly allow his powers to release from his body. As the aura spread the symbols that where spread around the room began to move around and come towards his body. soon he looked like a pure black shadow with glowing symbols covering his body. "My power is over darkness and shadows i have a range of abilities but this is my main power. I am able to manipulate shadows and darkness like you are able to do with your pictures. Though with this power i can even make the brightness of all places turn to a man worse dream. In the darkness all demons of a mans life can come forth and i can do this which is very helpful. "
As he walked the area around him turned into pure darkness. Everything in the room was blacked out. Walking towards the area where she sat he sat down besides her and grinned. he did have a plan though she would have to agree with him and do as he asked her. But first to show her the best part of his power. "Watch this this is my favorite thing to do." Looking around he found a small chair towards the edge of the cell. Suddenly from under the ground a huge arm with a clawed hand rose up around the chair then shut clenching into a fist around the chair. when it opened again the chair was shattered.
"Well thats all i can do.... But lets say i could get you out of this cell.... Would you maybe then have a little more faith in me?"

Again, she simply nodded as he explained himself. She didn’t fully believe it, but perhaps over time she would. It was when his ‘plan’ was a reality that she would trust him fully. Sudan would stop giving him such a hard time from this point on—even though every ounce of her being wanted to do otherwise. She wanted to believe he was a liar, that he had zero intention of saving the people inside the asylum. So when his plan was never set into action, or he didn’t keep his word, she wouldn’t be so let down. Quite frankly, she was afraid of being let down. Perhaps this thing he was going to show her would help her put some faith in him.
Sudan sat back and watched, though nothing happened immediately at first. The temperature did go back down within the cell again. When her eyes returned to him, his skin tone was pitch black. She blinked softly, never having seen anything like it before. She resisted the urge to reach out and touch his skin. It looked flawless, and as an artist she had a true appreciation for anything unique. Just as she was admiring, darkness consumed the room completely. Being a demon, she could see in the dark. Her eyes gleamed like some nocturnal creature as she searched the room to spot him. Since his skin was blackened, she really couldn’t spot him.
The table she was sitting on moved, feeling as though weigh was on it. She reached out, placing her hand on the side of his shoulder. It was him, she realized with a smile. Maybe his power was good enough, powerful enough even, to pull off this plan of his. It, in a way, gave her a bit of hope. She turned her eyes in the direction of the chair, which she could see, and watched as a hand came up and crushed it entirely with ease.
“Very nice . . .” she smiled, looking over to him when he began again. This time he was speaking of something purely hypothetical. She chuckled and shook her head. “Mmm, maybe I would, maybe I wouldn’t. I’d certainly appreciate it though.” She replied. “I wouldn’t want you to if it would get you in any kind of trouble. Surprisingly, I care,” she chuckled. “Maybe I do have . . . . just a little faith in you.”

"Well dont worry so much about me its my job to make sure you are all safe. For myself i can take care of things on my own." As he was speaking every thing started to change around him. The darkness was dispersing from the room like fog would. He returned to his normal appearance though now their was a small black orb in his hand. He had concentrated all of the darkness into one tiny little sphere. Looking over towards her he smiled. This was when his plan to get her out of the Cell would begin.
Reaching over towards her he held the small sphere out in her direction. "Use this to make yourself appear as a shadow with my powers over darkness i can also create illusions so this will get you out of here. Though i cant do it unless you are also in darkness. " His powers where strong but also had limits like any others. He had just found ways to get around certain factors.
He still kept a smile on his face. Over all Sudana was his favorite patient in the Asylum. Most of the others he liked as well but was not as helpful with them. Guess she was just lucky or maybe he was getting soft who knew. He waited for her to use the orb which was easy all she would need to do was hold it and it would do the rest. "Lets get you out of this damp Cell it not a place for you to be.."

”If you say so,” she muttered as the room gradually changed back to normal. It was back to its old dim, darkness, but slightly warmer now that there was some light. Sudan looked back over to him, seeing that he was holding an orb of darkness in his hands. She examined it, watching it swirl as the rest of the darkness he created went back to it. His power was very unique, she had to admit—to herself anyways. She blinked yet again, this time in surprise as he held the sphere in her direction. “Are you serious?” She asked, looking from the ball of darkness and up at him. Sudan couldn’t believe that he was about to bust her out of this place.
“Dante, no, what if they find out I’m not in here? They know my power, they’ll wonder who used theirs to get me out.” She protested. She was surprised at what was coming out of her mouth. She should have been elated to hear that she wouldn’t be spending the night in this damn cell. Instead she was a little more worried than anything. What if they screwed up on the way? There were so many things that could go wrong, and the thought of being drugged again scared her more than anything. She didn’t need to get into anymore trouble this evening, and he didn’t need to be figured out so soon. “Here, take this back,” she said, pushing the orb gently back toward him.
“Even though I’d love to get out of here, I don’t want you bending the rules for me. I really appreciate you wanting to help,” she said with a weak smile. She couldn’t believe she was turning this opportunity down. Sudan must have lost her mind. “I don’t want you risking anything for me.” She concluded as she got up from the table. Dante willing to go above and beyond for her added to her trust, but more than that it added to what little hope she had. Perhaps his intentions were good ones, or at least she hoped. The more time she spent with him, the more she began to trust him.

He was shocked by her. Why would she turn this down? Was she really all that worried she would get in trouble? Or was it she did not want him to get in trouble. In any case he would get her out of here no way was he letting her sleep in this place it was awful. Standing up the orb floated in mid air as he extended his hand to her. For one if he walked her out what would any one say to him? He was the head of security here so if he wanted to let her out he rightfully could.
"Please just trust me i will not let any one hurt you... I promise that" He stood their waiting for her to come with him and hoped he was right. Though he knew he could keep her safe it was the fact that the head board might find this a bit strange. Though many of the Doctors and other staff here had relations with the patience though those where more sexual.
"Lets put it this way if i walk you out of here their is no point in them saying any thing and if they do hey ill just have to tell them that im taking you for a walk so i can talk with you privetly. And if that does not work please dont take offence but ill say your going to my chambers. So in any case We will not get in trouble. Plus come on i can kill them easily any way. "
The idea of killing them was his favorite but that would cause alot of trouble though he had killed one before for mouthing off to him. Dante had literally tor him in half that was the bloodiest this place had been in a while.

She looked back at him, seeing the utter shock he was in. She hoped he wasn’t offended because she only had their best interests at heart. Instead of backing off, like she assumed he would, he pushed himself off the table and moved toward her. She stood her ground as he approached, thinking he was just going to carry her out. When he paused in front of her, she looked down to see that his hand was extended to her. She dropped her arms at her sides, about to tell him to just leave it alone, but he spoke before she had the chance.
He was so sincere and so genuine with his words that it was hard not believe him, not to want to give in. On top of that, he promised, and even though he was affiliated with the doctors and the security guards something told her to just do it. If they got caught, although he assured her they wouldn’t, she’d have every reason not to trust him anymore. She’d get beaten and everything would go back to normal. Really, what did she have to lose?
“Fine,” she said, taking his hand in hers. “Lead the way, big guy,” she said, gesturing to the door. She would play along, even though she was very uneasy about the part about ‘going to his chambers.’ So many doctors had taken sexual interests in the patients here, she found herself lucky not to be one of them.

Taking her hand softly in his own he gave her a smile and his eyes changed from their demonic nature to a soft clear blue color. And his fangs vanished. He looked like a human even more now but he was also happy which she would be able to tell. Now for the next step to get out of this place. That would be easy though no one would dare stop him and if they did he would deal with that himself.
Walking over to the door his hand still held lightly onto hers he opened it with his spare hand. Outside of the door the way was well lit by some lights hanging down from the roof. The way was clear at least at this end. As he started to walk his eyes flickered around the place quickly looking for any person. But it was still clear.
As they rounded the next corner their where two guards standing side by side. They looked in the direction Dante and Sudana where coming from and just smiled. As they passed by neither of them saying a word. This was no shock to Dante though it might be to Sudana.
The way was short and they where almost free. But then one of the guards words caught his attention. Letting her hand go he turned aroun then walked back towards them. His face rather pissed looking. He did not even give them a chance to speak but took the guard off his feet in an instant. Then crushed his throat in his hand then dropped him. The other guard just stood their silently and gave a nod of his head.
Turning back around he walked back to her and smiled. Taking her hand he headed back towards the exit. They where very close now just to get up stairs. "Sudana Im sorry you saw that... But its over now. You can return to your room or go where ever you wish and ill make it known that you are under my authority so with any problems you are to be reported to me. I think that should make things easier."

Sudan allowed Dante to lead her out of the cell. She followed closely behind him. Once she took that first step out into the open, she felt like she could already breathe easier. She didn’t get too excited though. She still had to make it back to her quarters before she could feel at ease. She wanted to jump at every little stir, and every little noise, but remained calm. Having Dante along with her gave her a bit of comfort, and so far so good. They hadn’t come across any guards or doctors. Well, that was till they rounded the corner. Sudan nearly dug her feet in the ground and suggested that they turn back and go the other way, but that would have given them away. She simply went along with it, lowering her head toward the ground and putting some distance between them—or as much as she could with their hands held together.
Much to her surprise, no one said anything. As far as she knew there were a couple of head nods in exchange, but nothing more. She lifted her eyes briefly, seeing a guard pass them by. Quickly she lowered her eyes back to the ground. She didn’t hear exactly what was said, but she did know the guard had said something. She ignored it, but it didn’t seem like Dante could. She looked up at him, looking at his peeved expression. He gently pulled his hand from hers and rushed him against the wall. Sudan gasped a bit, jumping as she heard the guys head hit against the hard concrete walls. More than that, Dante had crushed his throat. The guy’s lifeless body just slumped to the ground.
No one said anything, even though there were more the plenty onlookers. She stared blankly at the body on the ground as Dante approached her. It was his voice, and his apology that brought her back to reality. He took her hand again and led her to the stairs. Sudan turned to face him. “It’s fine. I’m sure he deserved it. And thanks, that’d be much better than being sent to some psycho with a syringe,” she smirked. She did like the idea of not being beaten every time she defended herself, or maimed someone for treating her badly.
“Is it okay for me to go the rest of the way alone?” She asked, looking over her shoulders toward the winding staircase.
